FlashPoint sells general human resource consulting division
Firm focuses talent management consulting in three practice areas: organizational performance, talent development, and compensation
(INDIANAPOLIS—April 2, 2012)—FlashPoint, an Indianapolis-based talent management consulting firm, announces today the sale of its general human resource consulting division to another local business, FirstPerson.
While FlashPoint has always focused primarily on talent management, it is narrowing its consulting to three core practice areas, including:
- Organizational Performance (strategy development; competencies development; job design; talent processes such as onboarding, acquisition, mentoring, etc.; and performance management)
- Talent Development (leadership development, management training, teambuilding, and coaching)
- Compensation (base pay, variable/incentive pay, and pay-for-performance systems)
“Over the past couple years FlashPoint has steadily grown; some of our service areas have expanded exponentially in response to market demand from mid-size to large organizations,” said Andrea Cranfill, cofounder and principal of FlashPoint. “We believe that focusing our services in these areas and narrowing the audience to whom we provide these services enables us to deepen our expertise even more and provide best-in-class consulting.”
FirstPerson, an Indianapolis-based, benefits consulting firm, is purchasing FlashPoint’s general HR consulting division. With the purchase, FirstPerson will now offer comprehensive employer services, including HR assessments, employee handbooks, policy and procedure manuals, employee relations advisory services, and onsite manager/generalist support.
“FlashPoint has long been a solid partner with FirstPerson, and this purchase offers a seamless transition that will allow us to serve customers better,” said Bryan Brenner, CEO of FirstPerson. “HR services fit perfectly with our services to help small businesses reach their full potential.”
To lead its HR consulting services, FirstPerson announces the appointment of Deb Hunter, SPHR, as an advisor. Hunter most recently served as a consultant for FlashPoint, providing general HR consulting. Throughout her career, Deb has served in various manager and director roles where she successfully developed, implemented, and managed all areas of HR.
“Through years of working with FirstPerson, we knew that we could trust them to deliver the same high-level of service that we have become known for,” said Krista Skidmore, cofounder and principal of FlashPoint. “We are thrilled that Deb will play an integral role in transitioning this part of our business to FirstPerson, allowing us to focus on our core practice areas of organizational performance, talent development, and compensation.”
